Merced Lao Family Community, Inc. provides free immigration support services to help Southeast Asian community members navigate the path to U.S. citizenship and better understand the immigration process.
 

We know immigration paperwork and requirements can be confusing and overwhelming. Our team is here to offer trusted, culturally and linguistically appropriate support at no cost for our services.
 

Who We Serve

Our immigration services are primarily designed for:

• Southeast Asian community members (e.g., Hmong, Lao, Mien)

• Individuals who already have a green card and want to apply for U.S. citizenship (N-400)

• Community members who need guidance understanding the citizenship process and related paperwork

What We Offer

We provide free assistance with:
 

• Citizenship Applications (N-400)

  • Help completing the N-400 form and related paperwork

  • Step-by-step guidance through the application process

  • Explaining what documents you need and how to prepare them

• Citizenship Test Preparation

  • A study guide to help you prepare for the citizenship test

  • Basic orientation on what to expect during the interview and exam

• Information and Referrals

  • General information about your options for applying for citizenship

  • Referrals to additional resources when needed

Cost

• Our support services are free.

• Application fees are not covered.

  • You are responsible for paying any government application fees (such as the N-400 filing fee).

  • We can help you fill out and organize the paperwork, but we cannot pay the application fees on your behalf.

• Our role is to support, guide, and assist with forms and preparation, and to help you better understand the process in your own language.
