Merced Lao Family Community, Inc. offers a variety of programs & services open to the public. These programs aim to assist the Southeast Asian community and Merced County Residents in youth development, senior living, early detection in mental health, hate awareness, and substance abuse. The goal is to promote self-sufficient individuals and aid those in need.
Merced Community Fund Project (MFC)
The Merced Community Fund Project aims to provide assistance to those who need assistance with job search, housing application, education, and other general public services.
Hmong Youth Cultural Program
The Hmong Youth Cultural Program provides a unique opportunity for Hmong youth to explore and gain an understanding of their cultural heritage. Through a variety of activities such as traditional storytelling, music, and dance, this program offers a way for Hmong youth to cultivate an appreciation for their culture and make connections with their peers. The program also provides a safe and supportive environment for youth to learn, grow, and celebrate their cultural identity.
Southeast Asian Consumer Advocacy Program (SEACAP)
The Southeast Asian Consumer Advocacy Program (SEACAP) offers mental health services to Merced County resident. Our staff provide a safe and supportive environment to discuss mental health issues and work together to develop actionable plans for achieving improved mental well-being. Our services are tailored to the unique cultural and generational needs of Asian consumers.
Southeast ASian General Assistance Program (SEAGAP)
The Southeast Asian General Assistance Program (SEAGAP) provides vital support services to Merced County residents. This program provides food assistance, language assistance, and other community resources to ensure the Asian community has access to the support they need. The program focuses on helping Asian individuals and families transition to self-sufficiency.
Prevention & Early Intervention Program (PEI)
MLFC provides prevention and early intervention services to help individuals and families develop the skills they need to live healthy and successful lives. Our services focus on addressing issues before they become serious and helping to identify and address problems at their earliest stage. We strive to provide the best possible resources and guidance to help our clients reach their goals.
Merced Hmong New Year Celebration
The Hmong New Year celebration is an annual event that brings together people of all ages to celebrate their culture and traditions. The celebration includes traditional dances, music, food, and sports to honor the new year. Through the celebration, the Hmong community is able to connect with one another and share their culture with the world.
Women Peer Support
We offer a safe and welcoming space for women to come together and provide each other with peer support. Our peer support program is designed to foster a sense of community and help women build meaningful relationships with each other. We provide an environment where women can express their feelings and experiences, share advice, and develop new skills.
MEN Peer Support
Our men peer support group provides a safe environment for men to share their experiences and struggles in an open and non-judgemental setting. Members of the group are able to connect and support each other through a variety of activities and discussions. This group is a great resource for men to express themselves and develop meaningful relationships.
covid-19 Mitigation project
The COVID-19 Mitigation Project is committed to providing COVID-19 resources and education to those affected by the Covid pandemic. We offer a variety of resources such as covid testing sites, food drive, and aid those in need. Our services are aimed at providing much-needed comfort and stability during this difficult time.
police community aid
MLFC offer a Police Community Aid to help build relationships between law enforcement and the community. This service involves providing awareness, education, and resources to help bridge the gap between the police and the people they serve. It is an invaluable service that ensures the safety and security of all people in the community.
california reducing disparities project (CRDP)
The CRDP provides a safe and supportive environment for men and women to share their experiences and challenges with one another. It is an opportunity to build community and to provide mutual support in a positive and non-judgmental setting. Through this service, we strive to empower men and women to make positive changes in their lives.
naturalization
Our non-profit offers naturalization services to those looking to become U.S. citizens. We provide comprehensive and personalized assistance to guide clients through the entire naturalization process, from filing paperwork to interviews. Our team of experienced professionals are dedicated to helping individuals realize the important dream of U.S. citizenship.
STOP the hate program (STH)
MLFC is dedicated to ending hate and violence against the Asian community. Our services include offering assistance to those who have experienced discrimination, harassment, violence and providing resources to help educate the public on the importance of inclusion and acceptance. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment for all.
CAl OES Program
The CAL OES program aim to educate and encourage safety protocol through a step-by-step safety plan, guiding the community during all major emergencies and disasters.
Food Drive Program
Merced Lao Family Community, Inc. offers a free weekly food drive service to provide meals to those in need. We collaborate with the local food bank to ensure that everyone has access to food. Our goal is to ensure that the community has food security.
